UPDATE: Thursday, June 20, 2024
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Northeast Region (WisDOT) is announcing that work will begin on Allouez Avenue, from Hazen Road to USH 141 (Main Street) in the Village of Bellevue. The roadway will be closed over the next few months to replace the pavement and add sidewalk throughout the project. The project will consist of grading, storm sewer, pavement replacement, concrete pavement bridge approaches, curb and gutter, sidewalk, pavement markings, signing, and new pedestrian crossing.

Week of 06/24/2024
Vinton will have the 300-ft stream realignment work east of I-43 on the north side of Allouez Ave completed by the end of this week. Vinton’s pipe crew completed storm sewer outfalls west of the I-43 bridge early in the week. The 60-Inch diameter concrete culvert was finished Wednesday, June 26. Roadway excavation and grading will continue working east from Little Creek Ln to Meadow Park Dr into next week to finish up reconstruction of the road base. Martell placed concrete sidewalk from Hazen Road to the I-43 bridge along the north side of Allouez Ave on Thursday.
Week of 07/01/2024
This will be a short week with Independence Day work restrictions beginning at noon on Wednesday, July 3rd and running through 6:00 am Monday, July 8th. Martell will continue work on the west half of the project placing curb and gutter along the north side of Allouez Avenue and filling in gaps of curb and sidewalk at intersections. Vinton will address grading for roadway, sidewalk, and slopes throughout the week. The pipe crew will complete storm sewer outfalls east of the I-43 bridge that discharge to the realigned stream. Smith restoration will place seed and erosion matting on slopes the are prepared with topsoil to allow vegetation to start germinating over the long weekend.

Traffic Impacts
Allouez Avenue will be closed to through traffic with access for local traffic only. The posted detour route utilizes Lime Kiln Road, Verlin Road, and USH 141 (Main St).
There will be no through access on the project due to the grade differential at the I-43 bridge at times. Residents must access areas west of the bridge from Hazen Road and east of the bridge from USH 141 (Main Street).
