Diane Wessel - Village Administrator

Diane was hired by the Village of Bellevue in July 2018. Prior to Bellevue, Diane served as the administrator for the Village of Hortonville, Land Services Administrator in Lincoln County, and Planning Analyst for Marathon County. While in college, she worked summers for her hometown, the City of Green Bay in the Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department and as a research assistant with the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. Diane graduated from UW-Stevens Point in Forest Management. She is currently enrolled in the Masters of Public Administration program with UW-Oshkosh and will graduate in May 2019. Diane maintains certification with the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and is working towards certification with the International Economic Development Council. Diane enjoys getting involved in the community and has served on boards including YMCA, United Way, and North Central Conservancy Trust.

The Village Administrator is the Village's Chief Administrative Officer (an appointed position) and is responsible for the implementation of the Village Board's policies and priorities.

This is accomplished by coordinating the official business of the Village Board and by providing leadership and direction to the entire organization. Other duties of the Village Administrator include the following:

  • Preparing the annual budget
  • Attending Village Board meetings
  • Recommending policies or programs to the Village Board
  • Keeping the Village Board fully advised on financial and other conditions of the Village
  • Supplying the Village Board with information to aid decision making
  • Serve as a representative of the Village
